The Beautiful Noise : A Sun Ra Tribute | Constellation / Fringe Arts

During the year long celebration of what would have been jazz futurist, Sun Ra's 100th year on planet earth, many events took place.  King Britt created 2 shows (one co-curated by Kate Watson-Wallace of anonymous bodies) to pay homage to the sonic hero.

The show at Constellation in Chicago was a solo electronic piece (w/ video by Jason Senk) as part of the Chicago Jazz Festival.  The Fringe Arts event in Philadelphia (w/ Kate Watson-Wallace) included an all star cast. Vernon Reid, Marlo Reynolds, Tendai Maraire, Imani Izuri, Anthony Tidd and choreographer Jaamil Kosoko.
